Little-Known Galaxy is a new game in the “Stardew Valley-Like” genre, or the “Farming/Adventure” sim genre, or the “Animal Crossing-Like” genre… whatever you want to call it.

Stardew Valley more or less invented this genre of games, and can be accredited for the rise of games that are similar to it – which Little-Known Galaxy very much is.

What this all means is that games within a genre follow similar tropes… but some of those tropes need to die out – and Stamina/Energy is one of them.

How to Increase Energy In Little-Known Galaxy

You can increase Energy in multiple ways, such as eating Seagrass when you reach planet Two (Blue Reef Kingdom) or through other, more elaborate Food items that you can get within the game.

There are also consumables that can increase your overall stamina, but those are very rare – you’ll find most of these consumables during “Friendship Day” and you’ll need 1400 Credits to buy it.

What is Energy

Now that we know how to increase it, let’s talk about what it actually is.

Energy is this game’s version of “Stamina”. It’s a mechanic that let’s you do things (Farming, mining, etc.) while you have it, and when you don’t – well, tough luck, buddy.

Go rest in your bed, wait for an in-game day to pass, and go try again.

It’s a relic of the past that needs to die, just like some other tropes of this genre that newer games have improved on and removed – making these games more fun to play.

Arguments for Energy/Stamina

While my opinion is that Stamina systems are irrelevant, there’s an argument to be made about “Hardcore” players wanting to have some difficulty in games like this… some micro-management and having to think about what you’re going to do next in order to maximize your progress and profits – but to that I say: Really? You want cozy farming sim games to be “Hardcore” and “Difficult”?

In my opinion, that’s not what the genre is about at all, and this game would probably be better if it didn’t have things like Energy or having to go to your bed in order to save the game.
